Quilts and such. . .

This is a quilt I made a few years ago, but had never had it quilted.
I took it to my quilter, Cindy, and magic!

Here is a close up of the border with the double feather design

A larger view. . .

Close up of the main block

Close up of the plain fabric block. . . look what quilting can do!

I made this pillow for our new grandson to be, (hopefully tomorrow)  Raquel brought me the scraps from the quilt she had made for Harmon and here is the pillow that I made from them.  I will take it back to DC with me when I go to meet Harmon Mark Bell in a couple of weeks.

Close up of the embroidered 'h' for Harmon!

Here is the knitted blessing blanket for Harmon.  It's a very pale blue.

Here is my birdie quilt that I stitched last year.  I got the pattern from a blog called "Little Miss Shabby".   It was a free monthly download, and I finally got it together and quilted as well.  The little birdie has a theme for each month.  FUN!

Here is a close-up of the July block

And, another close-up of December

Cindy quilted darling details in each block. . .LOOK!

Here is a dear old friend, my summer quilt that I designed with my friend, Laureen.

Those are peas from the garden and summer flowers

Carrots and a little chair for the porch

Gardening tools and a slice of watermelon

A bee and his hive and of course, the red, white and blue!

Hope you enjoy the day and get a chance to create!

Welcome to the world, Mr. Tyler James Bell, Jr!

Here are the happy and excited parents!  Amazing that you can be so free of pain during labor these days.  It is really an enjoyable experience!  Look at those faces, anticipating their first child!

Baby TJ is born!   June 21, 2012!  Here is a picture with Tyler, Ashley and their doctor, who by the way, was fabulous!  7 lbs. 14 oz. and 22 inches long!

And . . .this was the only picture of the quilt I made for him that I had from my ipod. . .Ashley chose such darling fabric and my quilter, Cindy Leon did a great job with the quilting, as usual.

A Graduation and A Wedding!

Robert Morris Bell graduated from Emory University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy on May 14, 2012!  Rob also was a speaker at his class graduation as he served as the president of the class for the last three years.  He did such a great job, his talk was funny, motivational and even sentimental.  Dan and I were so proud!  This is the only picture I have right now, borrowed from Schaefers' facebook.  I lost my camera on the way home from the trip and all my graduation pictures are only in my memory now!  :(

Here we are in front of the building where Rob spent most of his time while at Emory. (The School of Medicine) The day went well, after starting off a little wet!  The main graduation was outdoors and we sat under umbrellas the whole time, just getting soggy!

So. . .5 days later, May 19, 2012, Rob and Schaefer were sealed for eternity in the LDS Salt Lake Temple!  It was a beautiful day, a gorgeous bride and a handsome groom.  I joked that they could be on the cover of a magazine with this picture!

Rob, as he was leaving to pick Shaefer up to go to the temple!  What a smile!  I'd say there is one happy guy!

Schaefer and Rob just coming out of the temple after being married!

And finally, no post is complete without some kind of sewing project!  Here is a picture of the quilt I made for Rob and Schaefer.  I also made pillow shams and extra pillows to decorate the bed.  Somehow we got it all back to Georgia!
Speaking of Georgia, we went the next week for the ring ceremony and reception there.  As I said before, my camera was lost, so I will post pictures from that party once I can get some.  It was such a beautiful setting.  We are so blessed to have added a new daughter to our family. . .
